GET YOUR SHARE OF FRESH PRODUCE AND SAVE UP TO 10% WITH OUR

NEW CSA PROGRAM!

CSA, or community-supported agriculture, facilitates a unique relationship between individuals or families and the local farmer.  Through CSA your family can enjoy fresh, locally grown produce and other farm products through the growing season, while supporting the local economy.  This gives Aroostook residents the unique opportunity to know where your food is coming from.  A CSA

program allows you to purchase

your produce in the spring and enjoy discounted rates for produce all season long.  While most CSA programs require shareholders to take specific items each week, Stokdijk Farm & Greenhouse CSA offers you the flexibility of choosing the produce you want in the amount you need throughout the season (shares not used are forfeited).  Typically, five or more different items are available weekly (Mid-June to November), with a wider variety at the height of the season.

How does Stokdijk Farm & Greenhouse CSA work?

Our CSA works much like a gift certificate and a discount card combined.  Half and Full Shares are generally purchased in the Spring and early Summer.  The purchaser then receives a CSA card for the amount of the share ($150 credit for a half share, and $275 credit for a full share).  The cost of produce is deducted from the balance at a discounted rate (5% off for half shares, and 10% off for full shares) until the total amount is reached.

What if I am away for a couple of weeks or can’t pick up my produce?

Stokdijk Farm & Greenhouse CSA allows you to purchase your produce any time between May and October.  You are not penalized for not taking produce each week.  (So enjoy your vacation and we’ll see you when you get back.)

What if I use up my share before the end of the season?

Half Shares can be purchased at any point in the season.

I can’t make the designated pick-up time.  Can I pick up my produce at another time?

Sure!  Just call at least 24 hours in advance and we will prepare your order for pick up at the farm during our regular business hours.

What if I don’t use up my share before the end of the season?

Just like a gift certificate, your CSA card has an expiration date.  If that date passes before you use up your shares you will forfeit any remaining credit.  We suggest that if you know you will not be able to use up your share, that you “share it” with a friend or relative.  You may also want to consider a donation to a local soup kitchen or food pantry.
